This nourishing DIY Aloe Vera lemon hair mask with argan oil is wonderful for both your hair and your scalp.
It moisturizes your hair, revitalizes the hair strands, helps reduce hair loss, soothes an itchy scalp and fights dandruff.
Its strong anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties, as well as valuable anti-oxidants are derived from 4 natural ingredients: coconut oil, argan oil, Aloe Vera and lemon.
I wrote an article about why coconut oil is such a powerful oil to use on your hair and scalp.
Due to its special molecular structure it manages to penetrate deeper into your hair than other oils.
Its biggest asset is its ability to restore protein loss, support healthy hair growth and help reduce hair loss.
I try to do a coconut oil hair mask at least every other week and notice how well it does my hair.
Argan oil contains antioxidants, vitamins A, C and E, omega 6, and linoleum acid.
Besides moisturizing your hair, it also protects it against chemicals and heat.
It stimulates healthy cell production, repairs damaged hair and reduces hair loss.
My love for Aloe Vera started when I was a little girl and observed my grandmother using her Aloe Vera plants to heal different kinds of skin conditions.
This miracle plant is also very good for hair, as it moisturizes it, protects it, prevents hair loss, soothes an irritable scalp and fights dandruff.
Lemon is known to be a potent dandruff healer. It is rich in vitamins C and B, minerals such as magnesium, phosphorus and calcium and Folic Acid.
It strengthens the hair follicles, reduces hair loss, has anti-fungal properties and helps get rid of dead cells.
These natural ingredients are combined in this DIY Aloe Vera lemon hair mask with argan oil and coconut oil to give your hair and scalp a healthy boost.
1 tbsp coconut oil
2 tbsp argan oil
3 tbsp Aloe Vera gel
1 tbsp lemon juice
Melt the coconut oil au bain marie in a bowl placed in a pan with shimmering water.
Once melted, remove from heat and mix in the argan oil.
I like using fresh Aloe Vera gel from my own Aloe Vera plants, but you can also buy Aloe Vera gel from a health-food store or online.
To extract the gel from an Aloe Vera leaf you need to cut the leaf off and then cut it into half. Scrape off the gel, use what you need for this recipe and store the rest in a sealed container in the fridge.
Blend the Aloe Vera and add it to the oils.
Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice and mix everything well.
Apply your DIY Aloe Vera lemon hair mask with argan oil to clean hair, gently massaging it into your hair and scalp in circular motions.
Cover your hair with a shower cap and leave the mask in for at least an hour or longer.
Rinse your hair afterwards and wash it as usual.
