Soft lips with a healthy gloss and a dash of color – you can get them with this DIY vegan coconut oil lip balm!
Cold weather, wind, heat, pollution and other external factors have a strong impact on our skin, especially on those sensitive areas such as the lips.
Dry or cracked lips can he both painful as well as unappealing, so I like to give them some extra care. I love it when I discover a product that works great and contains only healthy ingredients – this easy DIY recipe is one of them.
So what’s in it and what does it do?
→ Castor oil has moisturizing, detoxifying and cleansing properties and is very suitable for delicate skin such as the lips.
→ Red palm oil is rich in Vitamin E and other antioxidants such as vitamin A, D and K.
The warm red color brings out the natural color of your lips without any added chemicals.
→ Candelilla wax, a natural vegan substitute for beeswax is rich in nutrients, it moisturizes and helps prevent moisture loss.
It is used as a natural thickener in food and cosmetics and also prevents oils and other liquids from separating.
→ Coconut oil has anti-aging, moisturizing and anti-bacterial properties to name just a few. It also lightly blocks some of the UV rays from the sun.
