Sweet almond oil is hypoallergenic and so mild that it’s suitable for all sorts of sensitive skin including baby skin. It’s rich in vitamin E, which helps protect the skin from external damage.
Besides moisturizing and firming the skin, it also cleans the pores.
Natural exfoliating properties help remove dead skin cells and stimulate the growth of new skin cells.
All of the above makes this DIY almond oil face wash with coconut oil a gentle, powerful facial cleaner.

If you have sensitive skin like I do, then you know how much care goes into keeping it healthy.
It can be a real challenge, especially if you live in a cold climate with high humidity or wind.

I discovered that my skin improved significantly once I had replaced commercial cosmetics with natural products.
What I love about about these DIY cosmetics is that they are wonderful for you and the environment, easy to make and very affordable.
You don’t need any special skills or expensive tools either – you will probably find most of the utensils in your kitchen.

It might seem a bit contra-intuitive to clean your face with oil, but from my experience it works amazingly well and not just for normal and dry skin.
People with oily or acne-prone skin often dry out their skin by over-cleaning it.
Their skin then reacts to that by producing even more oil.

Washing your face with a good quality coconut oil which is rich in nutrients can make a huge difference.
What it does is it helps dissolve the oil produced by your face which clogs your pores.
This not only leaves your skin clean, but also hydrates it without leaving it greasy.

As with anything new you use on your skin, I recommend to always test it first to see if it suits your skin type.

This DIY almond oil face wash with coconut oil is so simple to make. You only need two ingredients for it: coconut oil and sweet almond oil.

Instructions:

If your coconut oil is already liquid, simply add the almond oil to it and mix it.
I like to use an organic virgin coconut oil for this DIY recipe.

If your coconut oil is solid, melt it au bain marie in a bowl placed in a pan with shimmering water.

You do this by boiling the water in a pan – once it’s boiling you turn the fire low and add the bowl with coconut oil into the hot water.
This method helps preserve the nutrients.

Place a hot, damp washcloth on your face for half a minute. Take it off and massage the oil mixture gently into your skin.
Let the oil sit for half a minute and wipe the rest of the oil away with a hot washcloth. Rinse with water.

You can use this DIY almond oil face wash with coconut oil daily if you like to.
It’s suitable for all skin types, but especially beneficial for those of us with sensitive skin.
