Sweet almond oil is hypoallergenic and so mild that it’s suitable for different types of sensitive skin including baby skin.
It’s rich in vitamin E, which helps protect the skin from external damage.
Besides moisturizing and firming the skin, it also cleans the pores.
Natural exfoliating properties help remove dead skin cells and stimulate the growth of new skin cells.
This makes this DIY almond oil face wash with coconut oil a gentle, powerful facial cleaner.

Coconut oil also has enormous benefits for the skin. I have devoted an entire article to it, which you can find here.

If you have sensitive skin like I do, then you know how much care goes into keeping it healthy.
It can be a real challenge, especially if you live in a cold climate with high humidity or a lot of wind.

I discovered that my skin improved significantly once I had replaced many products with natural alternatives.
What I love about about these DIY cosmetics is that they are good for you and the environment. Plus they are easy to make and very affordable too. You can actually save a lot of money by using homemade products!

Oil cleansing

It might seem a bit contra-intuitive to clean your face with oil, but from my experience it works really well.
Oil cleansing is not just for normal and dry skin. People with oily or acne-prone skin often dry out their skin by over-cleaning it.
Because of this their skin produces even more oil.

Washing your face with a good quality coconut oil can make a big difference.
It’s rich in nutrients and helps dissolve the oil that your face produces and which can clog your pores.
This leaves your skin clean and hydrates it at the same time, without leaving it greasy.

As with anything new you use on your skin, always test it first to see if it suits your skin type.

This DIY almond oil face wash with coconut oil is so simple to make. You only need two ingredients for it: coconut oil and sweet almond oil.

How to make it

Ingredients:

1 tbsp coconut oil
10 drops sweet almond oil

If your coconut oil is already liquid, simply add the almond oil to it and mix it.

If your coconut oil is solid, melt it au bain marie in a bowl placed in a pan with shimmering water.
You do this by boiling the water in a pan. Once it’s boiling you turn off the fire and place the bowl with coconut oil into the hot water. This method helps preserve the nutrients.

Place a hot, damp washcloth on your face and leave it there for half a minute.
Take it off and massage the oil mixture gently into your skin.
Let the oil sit for half a minute and then wipe it away with a hot washcloth. Rinse with water.

You can use this DIY almond oil face wash with coconut oil daily if you like to.
It’s suitable for all skin types, but especially beneficial for those of us with sensitive skin.
