  • Do they bother you as well? I mean mosquitos. Because it seems like mosquito season is full on now. They used to not like my blood so much, but unfortunately those times are gone. What helps is a good insect repellent and I have the perfect natural DIY recipe for you! All you need is coconut oil and one or more essential oils with a strong smell such as Citronella or Clove. Coconut oil has anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-parasitic and anti-viral properties. Scientific research has even shown that coconut oil compounds are more effective at repelling insects than DEET. Coconut oil has been a lot in the media and one of the questions I get most often is "Is coconut oil actually healthy?" The short answer to this is: yes it is. But..there are many different types of coconut oil and they range in quality between amazing and horrible, depending on production method and the kind of coconuts used.   • Today I felt like sharing something not directly related to coconuts, although it really applies to everything in life. It's about gifts: those that we give and those that we receive. It's really the same energy when it comes from the heart. I love them both. That feeling when you got something especially for a loved one and see how happy it makes them. Or even to someone you don't know on personal level. Random acts of kindness.  And like giving I also love receiving, gifts, smiles, words, love..it's all love. Once you get into this flow of circulating the love, it really powers up and you can perceive it everywhere. The sign of infinity: it's like a number 8 on its side and it represents infinity, endless flow. All of us can truly make an impact on this world, by getting more into our hearts, by spreading good vibes, taking care of others, wishing them well, helping where we can. Sometimes just by listening to someone's story, by being there the best way we can. But also and that's the core of it all, committing to loving ourselves unconditionally and taking care of ourselves with true dedication.   • This is me in my element, surrounded by palm trees, with a freshly picked coconut & the sun on my skin! Being in Indonesia, the world's nr. 1 producer of coconuts, made me realize how deep my passion runs for this amazing plant. Since then this feeling has only grown and so has my vision to share coconut knowledge to help people live a healthier, happier and more sustainable life. The past few weeks have been a fantastic ride, so much has been set in motion. Can't wait to share more with you about it! Saturday I attended a full day of inspiring masterclasses with a group of 29 other visionary women entrepreneurs as part of the @viva_nl #viva400visionista Some of the interesting things we learnt was Body language principles: how to align yourself energetically through short and powerful exercises. We got a pitching workshop with many useful tips and a workshop about personal branding. This was a huge eye-opener to me, as someone who works a lot with branding and gave me many new insights. After this we had 1 minute to pitch before a jury of 3 and I was the first to start in my group. 🙈 Major stepping out of my comfort zone, but hey this is really how you grow! This was my first pitch ever and I've decided to do it more often. I feel honored to have been selected for this, especially since my idea is still in concept stage. There were so many great initiatives, I learnt a lot and met amazing women with beautiful projects that they pour their heart into. It's fantastic to share a joint mission with others and empower each other. I didn't continue to the next round, but I'm feeling very content.   • Wow..the past few weeks have been one amazing rollercoaster of exciting things happening for This Is Coco! One of the highlights is my nomination as one of the 30 female entrepreneurs for Visionista of the year organized by Dutch lifestyle magazine @viva_nl Tomorrow I get to pitch my vision to help people live a healthier, more sustainable life, during a day full with masterclasses. So happy with this opportunity and looking forward to a very inspiring day with other passionate people on a mission. ❤🙏 At the end of the day, 10 ladies will continue to round 2 with the chance to win a fantastic coaching and acceleration trajectory. How great is that?! I need to give you all an update soon about all that has been happening behind the scenes lately. I barely had time to be on social media, because so much has been going on. I developed 3 amazing coconut workshops that I'm starting to teach next month in Amsterdam, made some beautiful changes to my website and translated all into Dutch. I also joined forces with some really cool people and am working on some other things that are fully in process now.
